The website got hacked a while back. and so I thought it was time to update the website from Joomla to WordPress. Joomla is great software, but it was much more than what we needed it for. I also updated our Gallery software, thinking that could also be the culprit. Well, we got hacked again today. WordPress is watertight against bugs that we know of, so I started thinking that my ISP’s server could’ve gotten hacked. So I was checking things out when I remembered we have one more piece of software. It is called phpGedView, and it is the geneaology software that I run. Well, I hadnt updated it in a long time, and there is a worm running around (SunTzu) that is exploiting websites using this software. So I removed phpGedView for now, until I have time to update it. So there ya go.

Well, Emily got through the surgery fine. She was only in the operating room for about 20 minutes. The surgeon, Dr. Edmonds, found an “obnoxious amount of fluid” in her right ear. That is the ear that has been hurting her so much. She recovered very quickly and was soon eating a popsicle. Since she has had a little bit of soup, and lots of ::wikipedia(”Jello”,”Jello”):: and pudding. :) She still has a little pain in her ears, but that is to be expected for a while. Her throat was sore in the beginning, but the pain seems to have completely subsided. Thanks for your prayers!

Emily has been fighting some inner ear problems for a while now. She continues to have chronic ear pain and now has a loss of hearing due to fluid behind both of her eardrums. We noticed back in November (a week before her 4 yr. check up) that she was not responding to us. We had her hearing checked, and she didn’t pass in both ears. We have visited the pediatrician and an ENT several times since then and the decision was made to insert ::wikipedia(”Myringotomy”, “tubes”):: in her ears and remove her ::wikipedia(”Adenoids”,”Adenoids”)::. Emily will undergo this outpatient surgery tomorrow morning around 7:30 a.m. Please pray the surgery goes well and that Emily’s hearing is restored. Also, please pray the surgery will result in a cure for Emily’s continuing pain.

Stella had ::wikipedia(”Lasik”, “Lasik”):: surgery today, and so far everything is going great. She had surgery at 10am, and about 1pm she had a lot of pain in her eyes. She was able to get some sleep (they tell you to keep your eyes closed for over 4 hours) and she woke up feeling great!
The only bad part is that she has to put rewetting drops in her eyes every hour, and medicine drops every 4 hours.
It’s a small price to pay though.

We went to John and Angeliques House for New Years Eve. They always have people over, with fireworks, and good food. We fried a turkey, sat on the driveway, and watched the fireworks. Click for picture album.Â

Well, the site was down for a little while, due to some ::wikipedia(”Script kiddies”,”unsavory individuals”)::, and some major changes had to happen. But it is back up, and hopefully better than ever. I will get the Picture Gallery up and running soon.

Amazon Grill is owned by Michael Cordua, who also owns Churrascos and Americas.
The food is great South American style, and the atmosphere is nice and comfortable. Cheaper than Churrascos and Americas.
Don’t Miss: The Tres Leches Cake!

Kim Son is a great asian place with a HUGE menu! About 20 pages long, it has any type of meat you could ask for, prepared just about any way. On the weekends they have Dim Sum which is excellent, although can get expensive quick!
Don’t Miss: The Spring Rolls as appetizers!

Fogo de Chao is really an experience like no other. Their website explains it best:
Each guest uses a two-sided disk to control the pace of their meal. The green side signals the Gaucho chefs to bring out skewers of sizzling fire-roasted meats to carve at the table. The red side indicates a stopping point. Turning back to green lets the Gaucho chefs know to start offering the meats again.
All the meaty goodness you can handle.
Don’t Miss: The Picanha, their signature steak.

Lopez Mexican Restaurant has been a family favorite for years! Great food, excellent service, and it is only minutes from the house. Funny thing is, I know people from all over Houston that go there every week.
Don’t Miss: The Carnitas and the Carne Guisada.

Live Oak Grill opened in a location that had been populated by a dozen crappy restaurants. We had always hoped something good would open up. And then a place called “Jakes Grill” opened. They had great food, and a good atmosphere. THey soon changed their name to “Live Oak Grill” and it has been going strong ever since.
Don’t Miss: The Texas Cheesesteak and the Zeigenbock beer.

Lupe Tortilla’s by far has the best fajitas in the city of Houston, and I would wager the best anywhere. They are totally unlike any fajita you have ever had, and DELICIOUS! I can’t say how their other food is, because I literally have never had anything but the fajitas. YUM!!
Don’t Miss: The Fajita’s!
